Packing!!!

Packing has begun!  Sue and Amy spent several hours sorting, prioritizing and packing medical supplies, which was really great to get done.  Sue's nursing skills are already being put to good use!   Day 1 of the packing and almost 300# of donated goods are ready for final touches!

Crutches, walkers and a variety of neck/leg/ankle
supports.   We also plan to bring 3 wheelchairs.

School supplies waiting to be packed.

Books, books and more books ready for sorting!  Books are super expensive
in Rwanda, so we try to bring as many as we can for the schools we visit.

We're allowed up to just under 63" (length+width+height) and 50.5#
per bag, 2 bags per person.  We've learned to really appreciate big,
LIGHT suitcases so we can optimize our allocation.

Packed!
One of many boxes of medical supplies.
This scale is invaluable!!!  Thanks, Mom!

Great spot for hide and seek.
Each bag needs to be packed with its destination in mind, so that we're not doing much sorting when we arrive in Kigali.  Also, we'll need to produce a list of what we're bringing and where it will be going to show to the folks at the airport.   So it is quite important to keep track of what is in each bag and where its intended destination is.
